I hate to say this, but the grass has to go. I'm not talking about off the field, but the field itself. Now that we are in the Big 12, most fields are turf.  I feel our guys are use to playing on the Carter's real grass that has a lot of "give" when making cuts, but since most fields are now turf, we should change with the times so our guys are use to playing on the turf and how it affects running styles. Plus we can paint the endzones.

Agreed, but we wont always play on grass, hence injuries when we play on turf. We need to play on what most of the conference plays on.

Grass at home gives us an advantage. We have Fake turf in practice facility (I believe) to prepare for away games.

Because 4-5 conference games per year (+ SMU in even years) are on turf and are therefore more dangerous to our players, we should make all of the home games more dangerous, too?

I'm not following your logic...

Grass is better for knees.
Turf is better for concussions.

Switching playing surfaces week to week doesn't increase the odds of knee injuries.

The OP's premise is flawed.
Arguing with Bonner is like playing chess with a pigeon.  No matter how good I am at chess, he's going to come crashing in, knocking over the pieces, crap on the board, and strut around like he's victorious.

Follow along.

Classic football is played on grass.

Times have changed.

Modern football is played on turf.

IMO less injuries occur on grass. We are fine on our field. However, when we play away games, the intensity of our runners get them injured on turf because it doesnt give like grass.

I prefer our players to not get injured, so lets train our guys to play on the turf, full time.

Our biggest hurdle in the Big 12 (OU) plays on grass.  Doesn't seem to cause them problems.

Grass is what started the poor offseason in the first place.

Help me out here but I don't think we have a pattern of our guys getting ACL's torn outside of linemen getting rolled up on.  Correct me if I'm wrong on this but I don't remember any skill guys blowing out their knees in the last few years.

So, you're saying TCU should switch to synthetic?

Let's call Boise and get the number of their supplier, I'm sure they have a sweet purple version.

GP refuses to change the field to turf for the reasons above. As long as he's here, we'll have grass.

I love grass, great feel. Turf burns to high holy hell, plus, the rubber gets everywhere.

I vote we stop playing football altogether to avoid injuries.
As well as driving to prevent car wrecks.
