FWST: Gary Patterson's temperature soars after Horned Frogs' 'poor' practice Wednesday

A year ago, TCU coach Gary Patterson labeled the Horned Frogs' third August practice the worst in his tenure, except for maybe his first year on campus.

The Frogs' Wednesday afternoon practice wasn't that bad, Patterson said, but it was close.

"No leadership," Patterson vented after the closed practice. "It got hot and nobody wanted to practice. [The team is] not very tough."

Temperatures lingered around 100 degrees around 6 p.m. Wednesday, the time the team typically wraps up practice. ..

"It got hot"? and their not even in full pads yet? I thought I saw pics the other day and you guys were practicing inside.

Lightening threat in the area. Outdoor practice would have been suspended.

Practice facility has no air conditioning, so practicing there on an August afternoon is not exactly a trip to a spa.

Yeah, a luxury GP chose to go without to maintain the mental toughness of the team - the indoor is basically just to enable practices to continue and to prevent injuries during inclement weather or poor/soggy field conditions.

However, Baylor fans love to say there's no AC in the indoor because TCU couldn't afford it.

Wait? Is Coach P sick? Did he know this was going to happen and that's why he brought in Coach Shannon as a head coach in waiting?
A&M's departure from the Big 12 to the SEC has raised the IQ of both conferences.

I heard we're not even going to AC the new stadium because were so poor. Teams will have to play in the heat.
