"We were aware of Casey testing positive on Feb. 1. I have always taken a very strong stand on student-athlete health and welfare. We have policies and educational programs in place to help guide our student-athletes. We are committed to helping them make healthy choices and have moved forward. We have had 25 drug tests in the last 18 months, including one by the NCAA at the Rose Bowl. We've had six drug tests since February."

HIs column makes it sound like he tested positive for ecstasy and cocaine which is not the case.

I wonder how many months ago Patterson wrote that statement. Probably told his secretary just to pull it up and hit "send"

Agreed. The phrasing on that one is very dishonest.

Apparently he either defended or crucified someone during the original busts and is about to come clean. As a Fort Worth guy he should know that Crow, along with everything else, is better with a Rahr & Sons.
Lowering productivity is a full-time job.

Typical media idiot. It seems people thrive at tearing others down and it's a shame. I might be a rare breed because I avoid the news and paper as much as possible. It keeps me away from all the negativity. I know people make foolish decisions. Heaven knows I have, but I just try to be better than what I was.

Honestly, I've been away from phone / Internet this afternoon and am just now seeing this Whole Pachall "story."

Mac is calling for a suspension today.
All through the winter of '43, we had translators working in joke-proof conditions to try and produce a German version of the joke. They worked on one word each for greater safety. One of them saw two words of the joke and spent several weeks in hospital. But a part from that, things went pretty quickly, and we soon had the joke by January in a form which our troops couldn't understand, but which the Germans could.

I wonder if Mac thinks the President of the United States should also be suspended to "send a message"? He admitted to doing a lot more drugs than Casey did.
