Curious.  In your opinion who makes up the "doesn't play well with others" crowd?
Any politician of any party that comes into office saying the other side is devoid of ideas, that those ideas are anti-American that should be ridiculed and denounced is part of the "doesn't play well with others" crowd.  Any politician that runs on the idea that being inflexible is a good trait and is unwilling to try and work across the aisle, is the very definition of "doesn't play well with others" crowd.

We are in 4th Q under 2 minutes remaining facing a 4th and long in this country with both parties refusing to work together as a team on the field that is the American way of life--we have to have that 1st down or all will be lost soon.

+1 on the congrats, particularly given the opponent.  Don't know Mr. Veasy personally though like you but I'm inclined to believe you.

Mark Veasy went to Heights a bit after I did. You n I have a mutual friend that knows him very well.

He used to live in the same apt. complex I did. He would always stop and chat. He worked in Martin Frost's office so he was always at some ribbon cutting or other cool sounding function. He was a really good guy.

I'm voting for Sadler since he was named after a TCU building.

You just described the Democrats that held the majority after 2008. What imput did the Republicans have in the stimulus legislation,NONE. What imput did the Republicans have in the Health care legislation, NONE. Both of those bills were passed in the dark of night without being read. I get sick and tired of the Republicans being the ones accused as inflexible and closed minded. Go back to when the Republicans were in the majority and site me one piece of legislation where the Dems were excluded.

Disgusted with both Dems and Reps?  Vote for Gary Johnson the former 2 term governor of New Mexico who is running on the Libertarian ticket.  That guy is a real straight shooter.  He says what he believes and you can vote for him or not.  99.9% of the rest of the candidates for political office just tell you wha they think you want to hear.
I was going to vote for Johnson until Obama's, "you didn't build that" speech.  Then Romney had a good comeback speech at the VFW.  I want Obama to lose by as many votes as possible, even if I'm not a Romney fan.
All through the winter of '43, we had translators working in joke-proof conditions to try and produce a German version of the joke. They worked on one word each for greater safety. One of them saw two words of the joke and spent several weeks in hospital. But a part from that, things went pretty quickly, and we soon had the joke by January in a form which our troops couldn't understand, but which the Germans could.

The meaning of which changes when you read the whole passage.

"If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business -- you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen. The Internet didn’t get invented on its own. Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet.

"The point is, is that when we succeed, we succeed because of our individual initiative, but also because we do things together. There are some things, just like fighting fires, we don’t do on our own. I mean, imagine if everybody had their own fire service. That would be a hard way to organize fighting fires.

"So we say to ourselves, ever since the founding of this country, you know what, there are some things we do better together. That’s how we funded the G.I. Bill. That’s how we created the middle class. That’s how we built the Golden Gate Bridge or the Hoover Dam. That’s how we invented the Internet. That’s how we sent a man to the moon. We rise or fall together as one nation and as one people, and that’s the reason I’m running for President -- because I still believe in that idea. You’re not on your own, we’re in this together."

Vulgarity is like art - everybody thinks they know what it is, yet nobody can agree on what it is.
