I continue to believe that the Penn State football program should be shut down for two years.  It is a corrupt program that completely lost control and ruined lives.  The scene of students rioting when Paterno was fired is one I'll never forget.  Shut that program down.

This ^

Cannot believe they are still in business now. Covering up crimes of this nature for as long as they did is unacceptable.

They may as well just shut the whole school down.

He'll either be in solitary confinement for the rest of his life or dead in 18 months.

Sandusky's lawyer is flailing away on Anderson Cooper right now.  "He (Sandusky) has always respected the legal system.  He's always been a law-abiding citizen.  Uh, well, except for possibly these allegations.  But his respect for the law is why he wasn't even handcuffed after the verdict" (cue the perp walk with Sandusky in cuffs).

"Jerry Sandusky understands that the jury's verdict means he's been found guilty, but Jerry Sandusky knows he is innocent and that's why we'll appeal."  (Not sure how the "but the jury got it wrong, your Honor" argument works in PA, but it's not so strong here.)

My father used to play with my brother and me in the yard. Mother would come out and say, "You're tearing up the grass."
"We're not raising grass," Dad would reply. "We're raising boys."
