NBC Sports: Orioles move struggling Jake Arrieta to the bullpen

Jake Arrieta got the nod as the Orioles’ Opening Day starter this year, but now he’s bullpen-bound.
The Orioles made the decision after Arrieta gave up a career-high nine runs over four innings in a loss to the Phillies last night. There was talk about sending him down to Triple-A Norfolk, but the O’s want him to work through his struggles at the major league level. At least for now.
Arrieta has only made one relief appearance in pro ball, but he told Eduardo A. Encina of the Baltimore Sun that he’s on board with the plan. ...

Saw the Veep episode yesterday. That is a good show.
I watched it yesterday as well. The press says the VP is repugnant. I like it as well. In true HBO fashion the plot lines are slow to unfold but they do a great job of developing characters. Hopefully this won't get the ax like many of their recent shows.

Just got my mom into that show. Aside from the frequent f-bombs, I like it. Oh and I officially hate Girls now. That main character sucks.

I'm tired of seeing her naked but I think the show has a subtle genius. The last three episodes were great. But she is a total screw up.

It's a frustrating show. It's like watching Dinner for Smucks on repeat. By the way, Phormer, what is your avatar of? I saw it while driving on 45 from Houston and have been wondering ever since.
And to be on topic: I'll ask Showalter next time I see him.

I see what you're saying. I almost bailed after the first few episodes.
If it's what I'm thinking of (my phong doesn't always show the avis) it's one of our dogs in a TCU jersey. August of 2010 I found a stray on 161 trying to cross the highway. All the animal shelters and hospitals I could find were closed so I had to bring it home...which I knew if I did the Ms. wouldn't let it leave. A $300 vet bill later we decided to keep it. The vet told us it was female (she was so matted and flea-ridden you couldn't tell) and she was "swollen" as a result of the fleas. At my age I've learned the hard way not to trust two things: a fart and a swollen vulva on a stray dog. About amonth and a half later Lilly (as in Bob) had a litter of 5. We found homes for 4 but this one, Munch (don't ask), no one wanted. After about 4 months we figured she was a permanent part of the family. That was last fall so she was jut over a year. We now have 4 dogs...2 Alaskan malamutes and 2 mutt yap dogs. She's the sweetest of the 4.
So...about those Orioles.
I'm still laughing about Buster Bluth missing out on the photo op at Camden Yards.

As much as I love animals (kudos for not immediately giving them to a shelter), I was talking about your old one: the logo with some kind of bird on it?

Not to worry, they renewed it for another season. Sadly, the season finale is tonight.

I loved it when Mike was telling her firefighter jokes and she got up without him knowing. Such genius. I was afraid this was going to be a satire of Sarah Palin which has become worn out and old hat but I can see elements of both sides and it doesn't get overly political.

I don't either. I watched it from the beginning. The experts will tell you that the general public wasn't ready for it's brilliance and style. Today, almost every comedy is in the single shot style.
GMB was a close second. Michael Cera is my favorite actor right now.
