Do we really care if B10 and the others go to 14/16 members, yet we're the 2nd best in football at 11.5 members.... though may look like a boutique arrangement, just as long as we continue to have 4-6 teams in the top 25 and a smaller but power BB league. Do we jepordize 1 of our top 2 ranked FB members with a CCG, for post season BCS/NCG playoff considerations.?.

Cheers !
Everybody else will have one.  Remember when people mocked the B10 for not having one??  Although in the post BCS era, who knows what will qualify a NC candidate. Maybe it will require a conference championship game?  Winner goes to the NCG, loser goes to the Sugar Daddy Bowl.  Seems fair

Anything is possible... but believe most fans and media are looking for a top 4(8 my preference)teams in the playoff. Not a B10 trying to MFG a guarantee for themselves every year for a shot at NCG... as generally not in the picture very often most recemtly.

Have to believe the B12 and SEC would prefer the Top 4 ranked system as they both would have a shot at 2 teams in that Playoff as often as B10 would have 1 team under a Top 4 system. Would prefer existing system than guaranteeing B10 shot every year at at NCG.

Cheers !

Every Kid playing in Division 1 should have a fair shot at the NCG based on performance rather than preference. No system is perfect,  but the Top 4 ranked team system rules out the Back Room Boys... for the most part.

Cheers !

That has to be what the SEC and B12 are after.   Only get there through competition.  Rose Bowl promotes both the Pac12 and B10.  SEC and B12 just locked each others champions in, and really sealed the tomb on another league rising up.  A league cant rise up in a ranking status without some upsets.  No upsets if you dont get to play the game.

Does anyone forsee what impact a Big East-ACC bowl game alliance would have on all of this? Will it matter?

A famous football coach and his wife were talking...
Wife: You love football more than me.
Football coach: You're right, wife, but I love you more than baseball and basketball.

Zero chance 50% of D-1 teams getting frozen out of the MNC hunt. Lots of attorneys and influential congressmen in BE and ACC territory. They would have to completely re structure D-1 (basically) kick half out) which isn't happening.

Are you sure you are not a syracuse fan posing as a TCU?  A poster on the realignment board has the same signature as you with the tag line "cheers!"

Seems suspicious.

Didn't they used to call that the "Orange Bowl?"  As I recall, the ratings got so bad, they changed the conference affiliations.

They can control the rankings by not scheduling them for bowl games and doing this cross conference rival like the Pac12 and B10 scheduled.
Arent going to be in the hunt if not rank high enough because you dont play in a tough conference that week in week out is a beating.  (Am I really saying this?)  ACC without the football schools aint going to cut it.

Top 4 system is just a beauty pagent full of helmet bias, recruiting rankings & idiocy. ESPN is the single greatest influencer on the polls. However they fram & argument the voters will vote aling those guidelines. Nobody disputes a conference's champion because all conferences have divided a system to pick their champ.

I love the B12's round robin system & think it's the truest & most accurate way to crown a champion. However, if two worthwhile teams become available you add them. There isn't a law requiring a conference championship game at 12. If not playing a CCG is that important to the mistletoads of the world then set up a single 12 team division with a 9 game schefule & everyone skips 2 teams a year. It worked for the B10 for 15 years.
