I agree. If A&M had not left, we still wouldn't be in the Big 12.That was true until A&M left and the Big East needed to be destroyed.

Haven't read it but Joe schadd is tweeting about a memo by fsu Prez today arguing against leaving far beyond any non statement statement.
President has a lot less influence than the trustees. He can cry all he wants.

What I will tell you is this: the B12 is giddy right now, and so is ESPN. They are getting the best of both worlds (ACC/Big East Hoops + Big 12/14/16 Football), and some initial $ projections are bigger than anything you have actually seen printed or reported yet.
As far as how things got to this point, I told you back when the B1G and Pac-12 reached a long-term scheduling agreement that the B12 brass sat up straight in their chairs. Then, after the ACC and SEC conducted initial talks about formalizing a long-term scheduling partnership, the Big 12 decided to begin executing their already-developed strategy. Back in March, they decided to go all-in and start laying the groundwork for the ACC migration.
The long-term plan was to get 4-6 ACC teams by 2017/2018. Things have obviously moved into hyperdrive, and whereas the Big 12 was looking at schools like Tulsa, Tulane, and Air Force just six months ago (pre-ACC strategy), some of the ACC teams are stepping on the accelerator and are willing participants. This is happening faster than anybody could have envisioned. So buckle up. Although nothing is set in stone, they are trying to get this first deal done by July (before the SEC can react). There are plans for 12, 14 and 16. Depending on how the SEC and B1G respond, the 12 will either stay at 14 or go to 16.

Actually it was true until TV showed everyone who the real Daddy was and forced TCU in. And the BE needed to be destroyed. That was true until A&M left and the Big East needed to be destroyed.
Same will happen now. FSU is TV gold. Clemson to a lesser extent but worth the extra coin all the same.
Now the the fully operational death star seems to be aimed at the rebel stronghold called the ACC.

He has tweeted Rutgers and Mizzou had B1G invites, that Louisville and BYU had Big 12 invites and that WVU was going to the SEC. Can someone point me to anything he was right about, much less "dead on?" I mean, you would think he would have to get at least one right just on chance based on how many baseless tweets he puts out there.

Doesn't sound like you're on the sideline.Back in December, everyone was laughing at me when I told you that the Big 12 had already developed a strategy for acquiring ACC teams. For this go-round, I am going to remain on the sideline and just watch. Some of you have just been ruthless in the past, and I am not subjecting myself to that again.

How can the big 12 do this? Won't ken Starr sue the big 12 for tortious interference like he threatened the SEC and aggot? Can't wait to see that hypocrisy unfold.

Ugh the president is the one who's signature is needed to make the switch, not the BOT. The question is whether he is prepared to lose his job over this.

I meant that I am not going to offer real-time hints or updates as to what is going on behind the scenes as things progress.
As to how it can be done, I am not an attorney, but there are a whole lot of them that work for the conferences.
That said, all of the "dirty" work is done at the school/board of trustees level. The conference won't formally get involved until there is no question that invitations will be accepted. By that point, all of the legalities have been wrangled, corralled and put to rest.

Pretty much how I remember this guy from the last go round. He was wrong about 90% of the time.
Which means that he might get lucky one day if he throws enough against the wall.

Apparently so. He is basically the only person against it

Not quite. The President is the Executive Officer and Secretary of the Board of Trustees. The Chair of the Board may delegate signature power to the President in those roles. For something as important as conference affiliation, it is unlikely that the power would be delegated. See this link.
