Reports of former TCU linebacker Tanner Brock transferring to UTEP are nothing more than rumors, his brother said Tuesday.
Logan Brock, a former TCU tight end who signed a free agent contract with the Houston Texans on Saturday, said in a text message to TCU 360 that his brother going to UTEP is a "complete rumor."
Reports of Tanner Brock's transfer started circulating Monday when former TCU linebacker Tank Carder told 105.3 The Fan in Dallas that Brock might be going to UTEP.
"Last thing I heard, he was going to UTEP," Carder told the radio show. "He's going over there with his brother and sit out a year and try to get back in it." ...

For Logan to say it is a "complete rumor", is just not credible.

Until he gets his legal issues behind him he is not touchable even by UTEP! So when the story hit the news it was a little embarrasing even UTEP said No! So I can see them changing the story and he will not be getting any offers until the judge says not guilty or he spends his time in jail then it might be the pro's since colleges won't touch him. IMO!
No need to lie. UTEP refused to comment when asked if they had been in contract with him. Fact is they have and provided he stays out of jail he will be playing for UTEP in 2013. Frankly I think he should be able too.

Never suggested he should have lied just saying that is probably what happened! As far as him playing college ball again I think not because he will most likely be convicted! But that is only my opinion!

I hope Tanner gets another chance and makes the most of it.
Depends. If he truly makes the changes necessary in his life & owns up to his mistakes.....maybe. If not, I think it sends another bad message.

Yeah I do too! But he's still an idiot. Just blew the best opportunity in his life for some dope.

First time offender. Maximum sentence is 2 years (never going to happen) minimum is probation. I hope he turns his life around. He made a terrible mistake but he sold pot, it's not like he murdered someone.

no way that selling a half oz of weed will keep him out of college football. Even in TX

Yeah, time will tell. Hopefully it turns out for the best, I don't want to see him on the Police Blotter again.Depends. If he truly makes the changes necessary in his life & owns up to his mistakes.....maybe. If not, I think it sends another bad message.

I'm not an administrator of a University but curious what is TCU's policy on convicted students? The reason why I ask is there are not too many schools that will differ because of NCAA rules I'm GUESSING! Would like imput from someone who is knowledgeable.
Would be nice if only an ounce and if so would have probably already been set for court. Anyone been checking for court date?no way that selling a half oz of weed will keep him out of college football. Even in TX

"It's not like he murdered someone"? Terrible analogy! You never know how closely the two, go hand in hand. Ever watch the real life show "The First 48"? 95% of the deaths have to do with drugs.
Dealing drugs is a very serious legal & moral issue in this country. No matter your personal view on this, it is still a VERY serious crime.

If so, I hope they run into a lawyer (or hire a press agent) that'll convince them to say "no comment" rather than say stupid, destructive things.
ED: No first time offender in Austin would go to jail for 1/2 oz of weed, UNLESS there were circumstances that led prosecutors/judges to think that "shock probation" or some such might be worthwhile. Diarrhea mouth has put more people that otherwise would never see the inside of a jail, in jail, than one might think.

Thanks Scott I try to pacify most because of their views on pot but they really don't want me to say what I feel! Wait till they have a friend that graduates from pot then to other things because it's not making them feel good anymore. I've known way too many!
I think they need to divert the money from the "War on Drugs" to convicting all the liars, thieves and cheats on Wall Street. They are doing more damage to our country than the drug dealers.
Stupidist statement of the year award! IMO Even if joking!

Weren't the Brocks the ones that told the press that everyone on the team was smoking? Or some such? I don't believe anyone told the press that, I think it was just Tanner telling the undercover cop that (when he thought he was a regular ol' pot smoker). Then that comment was included in the police report, which got released to the public.
Could be wrong

He doesn't need to have some epiphany. He just needs to do what the courts tell him. I think keeping him out of college & football sends a far worse message.
