If the stadium is sold out with season ticket holders, the admin. is genius. No better outcome for the school could be achieved!!!!

Wasn't sure why this was such a hard a$$ thing to do, CDC errored in his judgement in my opinion!

Yeah, it's pretty easy when you only have your own personal interests to look out for.  When you're tasked with looking out for the institutional interest -- and your job security depends on it -- it gets a little harder.

Full disclosure: I've been a season ticket holder, a Frog Club member, a Clark Society member, and multiple bowl-game purchaser for 15 years, so I'm reasonably high on the Priority Points list.  Yet I didn't anything near the season seats I wanted.  Just sayin' there is much more at stake here than personal ticket gripes.

Naw, it was because I work for a non-profit.  Way out of my league price-wise.

Kaiser, how do you survive on that diet of sour grapes?

I was/am against the +4 and club seats not counting.  If it was just a +2 and also count club against the total I would not have minded as much.  I was only about 100 seats shy of not renewing.

Another thing to consider is who is getting bumped out -the younger and future supporters of TCU in many cases.  It is good to consider those that donate now, but you do not want to alienate the next generation of frog donors by making them feel unappreciated.

good for whom?
certainly a sold out stadium thru season tickets is good for TCU

their goal was to sell out with season tickets and that goal will be reached
what they underestimated was the unprecedented demand and the need for an UD on the East side
but it will come now and soon.

I'm for the +4.  What many of the commentors on here don't realize is that some season ticket holders have had seats for decades.  If the seats were between the 20s, its likely that their neighbors also had seats for decades, so they couldn't expand even if they wanted to (unless of course, they wanted their children sitting apart from them).  So the +4 rewards those fans who have been loyal to TCU for 20, 30, 40+ years, who sat through the 0-11 seasons, the 15 wins in 10 years, etc.

I've been a season ticket holder since 1994, but never donated to the Frog Club.  I now wish I had, so I could have had better seats.  However, I am ecstatic that this stadium appears to be close to selling out.  Who would have ever thought that this would happen?  The admission to the Big XII has significantly increased demand.  At the time the new stadium was being built, we were headed to the Big East.  So, everyone who thought they were "screwed by CDC" or "cheated by those evil rich folks" needs to be patient and wait a little bit for some of those seats to open up, and perhaps, they'll also build the East side 3rd deck.

I think they've botched the reseating process, but not because of the +4.  We've had 2 for 15 years and took advantage of the +4 so we can start bringing some combo of our kids and extended family members to the game.

You are missing the part where they raise prices first.  They will grow the waitlist, then raise prices, then expand.  It makes no sense for TCU to grow the stadium until after they are able to raise their prices.  If TCU had tried to raise pices much in the last few years, there would have been outrage.  They would have been unable to make a legitimate supply and demand argument.  Now, they can do that.  But if they expand first, they are right back to where they were in the first place.

They did raise prices, on every seat.  Every ticket is at least $200, some as high as $500.  They used to be from about $60 to $240.  I used to pay $160 per.  Now I pay $250 for a seat further back.

IMO, if you wanted more tickets for your account this year, you should have had to buy them last year.

If points stopped being tabulated last summer, then seats should have been set then too.

We had to add seats elsewhere a few years ago.

I don't really like the idea of creating disgruntled or disappointed fans on the low end of the points system so the top and middle can add tickets in a frenzy.

Like in the real economy, you can create a bubble. Then it bursts and you have a lot of empty seats and unhappy people. What happens after a real estate bubble? People rent out, maybe ruin the neighborhood,  and then it is foreclosed. Then the people that wanted in the neighborhood at one time think better of it.

Since we are playing "What If's" here, what if you were allowed to add 4, but each ticket you added would drop you on the list.  Basically, treat it like you are grouping with a person below you.  That way, if you really want to sit with those 4 people, you can, you just have to wait a little longer to pick.  At least with that, you'd have to decide if you really wanted good seats, or if you wanted to sell tickets on stubhub instead of being able to do both.

to watch big 12 games in a much nicer stadium vs terrible opponents in an older stadium. If you think the premium seats lower level are staying at that price you are crazy. 100s and the 300s seats went WAY faster than they could have imagined (chairback). If we really do sell out (seems like we will) the first seats to have the price raised will be those. East side chair backs next. The cheaper seats had the biggest % increase by far already, I expect those to be raised very slowly.

50 yard premium easily could be 750, 300 chairbacks $500, and a $100-150 increase to the other chairbacks. Benchbacks, bench seats and the cheaper seats shouldnt see much of an increase. All about supply and demand
