When I try to get on this forum I have to reload pages constantly to get anything to show.

I open the page and I get the header but no thread titles on the FFF board or no post when I do get into a specific thread.  I also get the little bar at the bottom of the page showing files downloading - it shows downloads then next file and next file and so on.  They download quick but constant and nothing comes up - goes on over and over till I hit reload.  Eventually I get the page to show up but it is a pain to slam the reload button over and over.

Any hints?

My impression is that the ads are creating problems.  You can get rid of the ads by paying for a subscription but the store for paying for a subscription is not working yet.

I thought I was the only one having that problem. Work computer has windows xp and ie8 - no problems. Home computers windows 7 and ie9 and I have the same loading problems. Any computer geeks can figure that out let me know. Very frustrating

It should be working. Have you tried it lately?

We don't load ads on here just to try and force people into paid memberships.

By the way, I think we are going to change our membership options and make them better for all.  Stay tuned on this one and in the meantime, I'll talk to TxFrog1999 about the slow loading

It\s a time where you make less money than someone older than you and yet you both do the same job. The only reason that older person makes more money is because they supposedly have "experience".

Didn't mean to imply that slow adds are a deliberate attempt to get people to buy memberships.  But since the board change, it has been loading incredibly slow much of the time.  I have wondered whether the ads contribute to that.  My membership lapsed before the change over and when I click on Subscribe, I get an error that it can't find the invoice.  So I have been unable to renew my membership.  I checked again just now and it is still giving that message.  The mobile version on my Android phone is working much faster.

I just subscribed last week because 1) I wanted to because Wes, Scott, & co. do a great job, and 2) I was having the same loading problem.  I just went to the top of the page and clicked on "More" and then "Store" and the subscription option was right there.  I joined and my page was immediately transformed.  No ads and quicker page loading.  Plus my name is now in bolded purple and I have that pretty ribbon under my avatar.
See if that works for you.

I've been having a problem.  With the mobile site, it keeps logging me out.  I have to log in every time I want to make a post, even though I've selected the "remember me" option.

Just FYI.

I didn't take it that way.  Just the ads being a pain with the loading since the change over.  Don't have issues with ads on other web sites loading.  With Fios I can usually power through most loading sizes.
Also on XP with IE 8.

It's not working.  I have the same symptoms as the OP.  The website isn't working well at all.  And yes, the issue is with the marketing & advertising.  My guess is that it is the adobe flash ap that loads the "replace ads with gadgets"banner.  Or it may be the glam35 media stuff.

Same here for two computers - both Windows 7 (doesn't matter if Firefox, Chrome, etc., so based on OP I'm guessing it's a Windows 7 issue). Been going on for a few weeks now.

I'm on a macbook with Safarai and have the same slow load problems too. Getting worse it seems. This thread took over a minute to load.

The site has been failing to load for me roughly half the time since going to the new format. Also, what happened to the spell check function?

Thanks for the report.  I do get some slow loading myself but it generally does not take a long time.

I'll be seeing TxFrog1999 this afternoon and will direct him to this  thread.  It may be that we just need to rethink our ads, find out which ones are the trouble makers and get rid of them

I did get to the "store" button on my home computer and was able to renew my subscription this morning.  And the site loads much faster without the ads.  However, I could not find the "more" button at the top of the page that Quilterfrog referred to on my home computer running Vista Ultimate and whenever I clicked on the "subscribe" button it returned an error message.  I do see the "more" button on my Windows 7 work computer.  Without the advice on this thread, I would not have been able to figure out how to renew my subscription.

I posted about my experiences similar to this in a thread a couple of weeks ago.  I was afraid I had contracted a porn-related virus, and it was affecting my KF.c life.  Guess I'm still clean.

+1 with the OP. The board is loading very slow since the change over. I've tried from work, home laptop, and wife's ipad. Problems on all of them.

Slow loading is NOT an XP vs. 7 issue, nor is it IE vs. Firefox...because it was unacceptably slow on all four variants named above. Today seems better, but it has seemed better before, then relapsed to taking a minute beween screens. The "preview" function allways worked great; however.

I've virtually stopped trying to get on the site due to the slow loading problems.  I didn't report, because it took too long to load and I'm too lazy to type from my iPhone.  I'm on a MacBook and thought it was because of that.  PLEASE do something, because I will only visit periodically by phone if you don't fix.
