You could go
North; Kansas, K-State, I-State, WV, Clemson, OU & Osu
South; Ut, Tech, Baylor, TCU, Florida St, Miami, Georgia Tech

Looks pretty good to me! UT & Ou could still play. Maybe have a north vs. South weekend.

The sites throwing out these rumors cite no sources, because their source is their [Craig James] hole.

I like the part where that poster says he has held back "spilling the beans " for two days, as if that lends some credibility to his fabrication

This is the best split i've seen for 14. Miami makes it tricky because Clremson isn't a fit in the north. I'd rather hold off on Miami and let them be a candidate for going to 16. Add something up north like Louisville. I really think trying to split Clemson off to the north like that would be a deal breaker for them--that division sucks for them.

The 7/7 pecking order balance is decent, too.
- North: OU, WVU, KSU, OSU/L'ville, KU/ISU
- South: UT, FSU, TCU, Clem/GT, Tech/Baylor
Keeps the 5 Big 8 together (North).
Keeps 4 SWC/TX together (South).
Keeps 3 ACC together (South).
Keeps 2 Big East together (North).
Could easily set up a North/South rival like the SEC did with East/West, keeping OU/UT on the books every year.
And this conference is every bit as strong as the SEC, especially with ISU and Baylor's recent improvements. Kansas is literally the only dead weight in FB, but they make up for it in basketball.
11 years. 109 wins. 9 national coach-of-the-year awards. 5 conference championships. 10 bowls. 7 bowl wins. 2 BCS bowl berths. 1 Rose Bowl trophy. 8 top-25 finishes. 5 top-15 finishes. 3 top-10 finishes. 10, 10+ win seasons. 9, 11+ win seasons. 2 undefeated regular seasons. 1 perfect season. 4 #1 Defenses. 149 All-Conference selections. 14 1st-Team All Americans. 13 Freshman All Americans. 2 Academic All Americans. 31 players drafted. 64 players in NFL camps. WAC. C-USA. Mountain West. Big East. Big 12.

But, "this is not the end of the journey." - Gary Patterson, July 1, 2012

Who knows if this is true or not, it is fun to speculate and think of the possiblities for the Big 12.

If FSU joined the Big 12, SEC is no longer the best conference. If at all it would be a tie of prestige. Yes, SEC has all the championships however a new era would arise in which conferences unseen like these are in play, thus pressing the reset button on who has what championships. Yes in the last era of the BCS SEC has been the dominate most powerful conference, but this move would bring a new era.

FSU, Georgia Tech, Miami, VT/ND (or whomever)...wow....

UT, OU, FSU, ND/VT, GT, Miami, WVU, OSU, TCU, BU, TT, ISU, KSU, KU ---- would be a great league

$ wise it would be equal to SEC or better....

It is good to be able to dream, even if that is what it is, just a dream....I say to Big 12 shoot for the dream, worst case senario is that they say no and go on to dream 2, and so on....

This is wrong. No way a GT FSU Clemson Miami president signs off on leaving the ACC. A majority of the people there hold the old ACC in reverence. There is no way in hell that this holds water. They are different.

Do you have something to say?
My father used to play with my brother and me in the yard. Mother would come out and say, "You're tearing up the grass."
"We're not raising grass," Dad would reply. "We're raising boys."

This would be awesome. No idea how realistic it is or when it would actually happen but man what an awesome conference it could be.

The Wit and Wisdom of Cameron Phelan

A person that can make a great martini is a person that I can trust with my life

The best way to know and understand someone that's different from you is to jump right into their world.

The mid-20's is by far the hardest time of your life. It's a time where you\'re discovering who you really are. It's a time where you start to see who you'll really be for the rest of your life. It\s a time where you make less money than someone older than you and yet you both do the same job. The only reason that older person makes more money is because they supposedly have "experience".

Not sure UT has or will ever get over what Miami did to them in the Cotton Bowl (86?). One of the great quotes from the announcing crew was: "Miami isnt beating Texas. It's more like they are molesting them now. Disgusting."

Jim Nantz said "I have no doubt Miami is the best team in the country but I couldn't vote for them after watching this".

A cherished memory.

Great... Now I'm going to have "Rock of Ages"* going through my head all day.

Meh. Worse things could happen, I guess.

The WVU board is a great source for rumors without sources.
