This week, let's pause and reflect on the career of Brian Cardinal.  Drafted  with the 15th pick in the second round of the 2000 Draft.  One pick after Michael Redd.  Best scoring season was 2003-2004 when he averaged 9.6 points per game.  That year was also his highest rebounding year at 4.2 per game.  During his 11 year career, The Janitor's total NBA earnings have been $39,334,595... and counting.  Did you know, he is second in career steals at Purdue?  He was towel boy for the 1989 Illinois team that went to the Final Four.  He and his wife gave $250,000 to help with the renovation and expansion of Mackey Arena.

Congratulations, Brian!  You are the first winner of the Spare White Metroplex Athlete of the Week Award.

Damn...I would have gone with Robbie Ross.

Aren't all middle relievers spare?  In Robbie's favor is the fact that, as a rookie, he has a chance to be promoted from Spare White Guy to Important White Guy.

Stupid answer. Ross has well exceeded expectations ... so far. Shack, forget Ranger talk, stick to the South Side Scums.

Eh, leave him alone.  Never mind he has no idea what's going on here, its probably that time of the month.

Too bad you started this in the spring.  After all, there's 3 pro hockey teams in the Metroplex.

I was under the impression that Shawn Bradley held this title for life...
One love, One blood, One life
You got to do what you should
One life, with each other
Sisters, brothers
One life, but we're not the same
We get to
Carry each other
Carry each other

Is Shawn Bradley even the sparest white athlete in Maverick history?  Was he more spare than Loren Meyers or Cherokee Parks?  I'm going to have to think about that one.  I definitely think he's the whitest of the spare white mavericks.  Wait a minute.  Keith van horn had a swim through here didn't he?  Who's whiter -- KVH or Bradley?

So was Walt Garrison the greatest white spare in metroplex sports history, or not?

If only I lived in the south west. That way I could take advantage of a bunch of spare Mexicans willing to work for less than slave wages too. They MUST be spare, who else would work for that?...LOL
"I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around [the banks] will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs."
