My, someone's a bitter bloviator today....
One love, One blood, One life
You got to do what you should
One life, with each other
Sisters, brothers
One life, but we're not the same
We get to
Carry each other
Carry each other

Kevin Cron pitched batting practice to my son today. His day was better than mine.
All through the winter of '43, we had translators working in joke-proof conditions to try and produce a German version of the joke. They worked on one word each for greater safety. One of them saw two words of the joke and spent several weeks in hospital. But a part from that, things went pretty quickly, and we soon had the joke by January in a form which our troops couldn't understand, but which the Germans could.

Might as well cancel my reservation for Tulsa then.

That sounds bitter, if not bloviating.

My, someone's a bitter bloviator today....

I was just passing the time before the soccer games started
"Those early Southwesterners were wild and wooly. Ed (Cowboy) Bull, a big AddRan College guard, wore a six-shooter onto the field. When asked to explain, he drawled, 'Ah always wear mah shootin' iron when Ah'm among strangers.'" -- from the book College Football USA 1869-1973, by John D. McCallum and Charles H. Pearson

Stay hard baseball integrity. Roger Clemens found not guilty of lying to Congress.

The defense attorney used a brilliant strategy of forcing the prosecuter to define "lying" while speaking on the Congressional floor. Since nobody could find an instance of "truth" being spoken to contrast the "lying", the jury was unable to come up with a definition that wouldn't subject the entire Congress to 20 years to life.

Wow, I did not see that coming. Oh well, now we have more time to get the Flying Spaghetti Monster park up and running across the street from them.

Speaking of primates, I watched the remake of "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" last night.

Good job.

Sometimes, I think that life is nothing more than a big contest to see who can have their descendants survive to see the Sun destroy the Earth.

I think this guy might win.

I never saw the original. If you say it's better, than I'll believe you. But that means the original was bad beyond description.

did i ever tell you guys about the time i got laid off from radioshack? i was so bummed that i moved to paris with my wife. paris was great but the wife wasn't so i came back to the states and divorced her. i didn't know what to do with my life next so i went back to seminary. after i graduated from seminary i was a pastor at a small church in east texas. it was then that i learned i had testicular cancer. luckily i beat the cancer and ended up running a marathon, against oprah of all people. after the marathon i decided to buy an old airstream RV and drive cross country antiquing.

By the way, if we're airing our full educational laundry, I got a certificate for completing a course in French language and civilization at the Sorbonne in Paris. I didn't technically "pass the class" because I didn't "take the final." I went to "watch a soccer game" at a "pub" that day instead. No regrets there... I have also lost the certificate as far as I know. You'll just have to take my word for it.

Did the Sorbonne send you a Fear of God letter?

The original Planet of the Apes was great (at the time, for the time). The other two Apes movies were unwatchable.

The French don't believe in God, fortunately for me... I did get a Fear of Secular Humanism letter, though

Let's get Congress in prison, too...
