I think this is a pretty common phenomenon, although varying in degrees. There are a few people in my life who ate so accomplished at it that everyone just assumes whatever they are saying didn't actually happen.

As was I. The reruns were a staple of my TV viewing in the early to mid 70s.

I used to watch the Monkees all the time as a kid. Very good show. I also remember Davy Jones's epic guest appearance on the Brady Bunch. But who doesn't?
