Jake Arrieta showed he was a good sport Wednesday when he displayed his tattoo of the Coastal Carolina logo after losing a College World Series bet to teammate Tommy La Stella.

 

As he revealed the tattoo on an oft-covered part of his body, the Cubs' workhorse pitcher was even more forthcoming regarding his desire to explore a contract extension. In doing so, Arrieta wants to maintain focus on the Cubs repeating as World Series champions rather than becoming obsessed with an impending free agency after this season.

 

"Once you get to a certain point in your career, it's a little bit easier to put that out of mind," Arrieta said. "Financially it's not a big worry for myself individually. The less of a distraction it can play on the team and everyone in this clubhouse, the better.
