BasketballUnder women’s head basketball coach Jeff Mittie, the TCU Lady Frogs are a regular in the top 25 rankings. The team made its ninth NCAA post-season appearance following the 2009-10 season, and has advanced to the second round five times in those nine trips. Meanwhile, men’s head coach Jim Christian was hired in 2008 and continues to try and turn around the fortunes of a program that has had some success in the past, with coaches like Buster Brannon, Johnny Swaim, Jim Killingsworth and Billy Tubbs. But the program fell on hard times and Christian has upgraded the talent and looks to transform the Frogs into not only contenders for conference championships, but a team making regular trips to NCAAs. Talk about TCU hoops here. |

BaseballTCU made a huge commitment to its baseball program with the building of beautiful Lupton Stadium, which opened in 2003, then hiring head coach Jim Schlossnagle the following year. All he has done is turn TCU into a college baseball powerhouse, winning conference regular season or tournament championships and making NCAA appearances each year he has been in Fort Worth. In 2010, he led TCU to a Super Regional win over Texas in Austin, sending the Frogs to Omaha and the College World Series for the first time in school history. The darlings of the CWS tourney, the Frogs did not disappoint, going 3-2. Local support and enthusiasm is growing with the program, and a stadium expansion could take place soon. Here’s where you can weigh in on the baseball team. |

Killingsworth Court, Formerly The General ForumThis website takes its KillerFrogs moniker from the late and great basketball coach Jim “Killer” Killingsworth, who coached the Frogs from 1979 to 1987. It simply wasn’t long enough for Frogs fans. In eight seasons Killer went 130-106 (.551) overall with four wins over top-15 teams - the most in school history. His last team went 24-7 and won the SWC, losing to Notre Dame in the second round of the NCAA playoffs. His teams were known as the “Killer Frogs.” Killingsworth died in 2007, but with this board already named his honor, we have also provided a general topics forum also named in his honor. It’s wide open and just about anything goes here, from discussing politics to exchanging recipes. Whatever interests you outside of TCU sports, this is the place to post and talk about it. |
