Cedric Reed 6-5/240 Cleveland, TX Top 150, excellent basketball player, teammate of TCU signee Marcus Mallett.

Scout Inc. eval:

There isn’t a defensive end in the class with more athletic talent than Reed. He has a tremendous body and he is a plus athlete at the position and as good as he is now his upside is tremendous because he hasn’t been locked into the position. Reed’s athleticism is only enhanced by the fact that body is still developing. He could come into a college program as a tight end because of his athleticism or possibly even offensive tackle, but I think the latter is a little farfetched because his body would have to fill out a lot more. At any rate, Reed is a very valuable prospect at the defensive end position because of the natural raw talent he puts on display with great movement off of the ball and tremendous power off of the edge. He is also a good basketball player, further showing those athletic gifts.
