Plenty of recruits watch TCU overwhelm SDSU
Posted on October 8, 2008
As many fans fretted over the trio from Maud visiting the Razorbacks, the Horned Frogs had their own group of highly sought after prospects on campus. TCU hosted around 40 prospects and commits for the 2009 and 2010 classes last weekend for the San Diego State game and they were treated to not only great weather and a huge victory but also the excessive commentary from a certain frog fan who seemed to imbibe more than his fair share of adult beverages.
Commits such as Casey Pachall, Ty Horn, John Woolridge, Tanner Brock, and Eric Tausch were on hand to watch the Frog victory and several also brought some fellow teammates to get a closer look from the coaches. Ty travelled with Waco Midway speedster John Hubert, Casey brought Brownwood receiver Parker Taylor and runningback Rashad Deal and Tanner brought is brother, Cooper a 2010 linebacker prospect. 2009 Belton linebacker Kyle Voss also was in attendance.
A few of the 2010 names to watch in addition to Cooper Brock that were in attendance are the Joeckel twins, Matt & Luke from Arlington High and big Austin Weatherford from Maypearl. Matt Joeckel is a highly recruited QB and Luke is getting lots of looks at offensive line. They have a sister currently attending TCU on a volleyball scholarship. Matt was the Chevy MVP of the week after the Arlington v Lamar game (video: http://www.prepticket.com/video/school/arlington–arlington–texas–hs/id/823292:Video:66461)
Austin Weatherford was an All-District offensive lineman as a sophmore and has continued to grow. The 6-4/275 tackle is already high on the coach’s lists along with Luke Joeckel.
As far as John Dunbar, Ray Burns and Bryant House, they got to see Tim Tebow and Percy Harvin take it to the Hogs, but came back to Texas still high on TCU.
As for the TCU fan, please stay away from the recruits in the future.

Thanks for all the info. I’ve been missing too much of your stuff, and have realized this is such good reading.
Put your info right up at the top.
Still think the question now with 2009 class, is what JC’s do we take. Hope they take a big RB and a defensive tackle and a linebacker. Sparks, I hope is still a viable at DT.

I stumbled across your website after my un-official visit 10/25 to watch the Frogs destroy Wyoming.
Very impressive campus and athletic complex. Hope TCU is in need of a kicker/punter in 2010.
Keep up the good work and hope to be back soon.

Hey Gunner, thanks for the comments.
I also expect we take a few JCs to fill some gaps and one at RB appears to be a priority right now.
Hey Cameron:
Thanks for the visit and will put you down on the list. As far as needs for a kicker/punter in 2010 I will be honest and say that those will not be positions of need. The punter this year is a RS freshman and the kicker is a true freshman. Neither have been all-conference types this year, but both have been solid overall.
Evans the kicker has missed a few extra points which is a little concerning, but has been very solid on FG attempts and has only missed one and that was in his first outing.
That being said, the coaches are always looking for better so if you can prove yourself they will give you a shot.
